Missing Texas Teen’s Heartbreaking Final Text to Best Friend Revealed After Christmas Eve Disappearance

The best friend of a Texas teen who vanished without a trace early Christmas Eve morning is now revealing the chilling final words the missing girl said before she disappeared.

Camila “Cami” Mendoza Olmos, 19, was last seen outside her San Antonio home just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, wearing pajama shorts and a hoodie — and then she vanished.

Her childhood best friend, Camila Estrella, said the two were on the phone Tuesday, happily planning a dress-shopping trip for an outfit Estrella needed for her boyfriend’s family gathering.

“She said, ‘Bye Cami, I love you,'” recalled a shaken Estrella.

“This is so random, we never expected this.”

Video captured Olmos outside her home in baby-blue pajama shorts, a black hoodie, and white shoes, rummaging through her car before the footage abruptly cuts out, authorities said. Her sudden disappearance has stunned the community and left her family desperate for answers about the Northwest Vista Community College student.

“It’s just not Cami,” said aunt Nancy Olmos. “We knew something happened.”

When Olmos and her mother moved from California to Texas in 2012, her aunt opened her home to them.

"This was not a Christmas for us. It is a nightmare," she said, adding that family members who had gone out of town for the holidays dropped everything and rushed back to help find her.

Olmos’ mother, Rosario, woke Wednesday to the terrifying realization that her daughter — who always took an early morning walk — was nowhere to be found, reports say.

Rosario Olmos tried calling her daughter’s phone by 9:30 a.m., only to find it lying on the bed with no battery, she told FaqInsurances, with Nancy Olmos translating.

The mother quickly called police, who arrived with scent-tracking dogs, but despite their efforts, the business student remains missing.
