The State Corporation Commission (SCC) has regulatory authority over utilities, insurance, state-chartered financial institutions, securities, retail franchising and railroads.
Agency Renewals
Must renew by May 1 every odd year. Agencies that fail to renew by May 1 every odd year must submit an application for a new license through Sircon or NIPR. No reinstatements.
Individual Renewals
Licenses have a renewal date based on your birth month and odd/even year of birth. For example, if you were born in an odd-numbered year, your license will expire at the end of your birth month in odd-numbered years. If you were born in an even-numbered year, your license will expire at the end of your birth month in even-numbered years.
If you are born in an odd year then your first renewal will be in 2023. If you are born in an even year then your first renewal will be in 2022, except for those born in January which will renew in 2024.

Renewal Schedule
Agents will be able to renew their licenses 90 days prior to the expiration date. The renewal fee will be $10 per line of authority.
Continuing Education Requirements for resident Consultants, Producers, & Public Adjusters are due at the time of renewal.
Licensed on or before January 1, 2021- You will have a minimum of 13 months from January 1, 2021 before your first renewal.
Licensed after January 1, 2021- You will have a minimum of 13 months from the date your license was issued before first renewal.

Licensees holding both Life & Health and Property & Casualty Consultant qualifications if only one of the two qualifications are renewed, and you wish to renew the other prior to the license expiration date, email the License Renewal Team at [email protected] to request a paper application.
As part of the renewal, all public adjusters must certify that a $50,000 bond in favor of the Commonwealth and obtained from an insurance company licensed by the Commission will remain in force for as long as the license remains in effect. The surety bond number, effective date and the name of the insurer must be included on the renewal application. The Bureau does not require submission of the continuation certificate as a condition of renewal.
Reinstatements only apply to individual licenses. Individual licenses may be reinstated within twelve months from the renewal date due to non-renewal or failure to complete continuing education requirements.
In addition to the original renewal fee, a reinstatement fee that is double the renewal fee will be required. Renewal fee is $10 plus a $20 reinstatement fee per LOA.
Residents must complete all CE requirements before submitting a reinstatement.
Resident Producers and Consultants must reinstate through Sircon.
All others have the option to reinstate their licenses through Sircon or NIPR.
