UNDERWRITING PROGRAM
We are hiring high-potential candidates to join our training program as full-time Employees with an anticipated start date in mid-January 2023. Our enhanced five-month training program prepares candidates for a career in Underwriting, handling both personal (auto, home) and commercial (business) lines of business. Our recent graduates reported that the program successfully laid a strong foundation for their future success. Insurance underwriters are “gatekeepers” who ultimately decide which risks Erie Insurance and its Agents should accept and retain. It’s a job that is vital to our company’s success, and we are excited to now offer consolidated commercial and personal lines training. Our Underwriters are based out of our corporate office in Erie, PA and includes exposure to Senior & Executive Leadership to network and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
There is typically no straight path to becoming an underwriter. This program gives interested individuals comprehensive training to successfully prepare them for the role. Candidates should ideally have a college degree; a background in insurance is helpful, but not required. We are seeking a diverse slate of exceptional candidates who have strong decision making, relationship building, communication and research skills.
