Cinnabon Employee Fired After N-Word Incident With Somali Couple Goes Viral — and GoFundMe Support Surges

A Cinnabon worker in Wisconsin has been fired after a viral video caught her unleashing the N-word and other racist insults at a Somali couple over the weekend.

The social-media video shows the unidentified Ashwaubenon Cinnabon employee calling the couple the N-word and openly declaring he’s racist as the argument spirals out of control.

“I am a racist, and you are a n—-r,” the employee says while nodding and smiling. “I am racist and I’ll say that to the whole entire world.”

As the couple recording her warns that she’s throwing her life away with that kind of declaration, the woman fires back by flashing both middle fingers at them.

“You are fired from this place motherf–ker,” the man filming her says. “You’re not going to be working here.”

She fires back almost instantly, shouting "Suck it!" while throwing up the signature pro-wrestling double–middle-finger taunt.

“What’s wrong with you?” the man asks.

“What the f—k is wrong with you, you f—king ugly bitch? Get the f—k out of my face,” she responds.

“Are you talking about ugliness,” he fires back.

According to the original post, the couple had simply walked into the Cinnabon to buy food when things blew up — after the employee allegedly started mocking the woman’s hijab.

Cinnabon announced on Saturday that it was aware of the incident and had taken swift action against the employee for the offensive language she directed at the customers.

“We’ve seen the disturbing video from the Cinnabon bakery in Ashwaubenon, WI, and we do not condone this behavior,” the company said. “The former employee was immediately terminated by the franchise owner."

“Their actions do not reflect our values or the welcoming experience every guest deserves,” Cinnabon added.

In the wake of the backlash, a GiveSendGo page that had raised thousands for the fired woman has reportedly been taken down.

A GoFundMe was also launched on her behalf, pulling in over $1,000 from 27 donors.

The incident comes amid rising racial tensions in Minnesota and Wisconsin targeting Somali immigrants, following President Trump’s recent remarks labeling them as "garbage" who have "destroyed our country."

The president’s comments came during a discussion about a COVID-19 fraud case, with White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller directly blaming Somali immigrants for a welfare scam worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
