A rising young voice in Latin music was tragically gunned down in an ambush-style attack while sitting in a parked car in Los Angeles over the weekend — a shocking end to a career just beginning to take flight.
Maria De La Rosa — the 22-year-old rising artist known as DELAROSA — was fatally shot in Northridge after two gunmen walked up to her car and unleashed a burst of gunfire.

Witnesses told police that two men sprinted up to the parked car around 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 22 and unleashed a burst of gunfire into the vehicle. The two men who were inside with the singer were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, fighting to survive.
De La Rosa was rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, but doctors couldn’t save her — she was pronounced dead soon after arriving, ABC 7 reported.
