Jets’ Kris Boyd Critically Injured in Shocking NYC Shooting

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was shot and critically injured in Midtown early Sunday morning and is now fighting for his life at Bellevue Hospital, authorities and team officials said.

The shooting occurred on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue just after 2 a.m., police said, though they initially did not confirm Boyd as the victim.

However, sources told The Post that the 29-year-old NFL cornerback was the victim.

The team later confirmed that Kris Boyd was the victim in the shooting.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a rep said.

Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after an argument turned violent, with the gunman firing two shots, law enforcement sources told Faqinsurances.

Sources said Boyd was with a group of friends outside the trendy hotspot when the argument erupted, ending with gunfire — though it’s unclear whether he was the intended target.

Sources said the shooter sped away in a BMW X6 SUV, while witnesses refused to cooperate with police.

Sources said a second vehicle, a luxury silver Mercedes-Benz Maybach, also sped away from the scene after the shooting.

Photos from the scene also show a Rhino GX — a luxury armored SUV made by US Specialty Vehicles, priced up to $300,000 — parked outside the restaurant after police arrived.

Boyd drifted in and out of consciousness before being rushed to the hospital, where he is now listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said no arrests have been made, and the shooting remains under investigation.

Sei Less, an Asian-fusion restaurant, has long been a hotspot for celebrities, including hip-hop and music stars.

Club founder Dara Mirjahangiry told Good Morning America that rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs once bought drinks for the entire house during a visit.

Boyd, a 5-foot-11 defensive back for the Jets, joined the team this year after starting his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings before the 2019 season. He has also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans.

Boyd is currently on the Jets’ injured reserve list.

He suffered a shoulder injury during preseason practice and hasn’t taken a single snap this season.

The Jets stayed off the field Sunday following their loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

Boyd, who has earned over $8 million in his career, signed a $1.6 million contract to play for the Jets this season, according to sports salary tracking site Spotrac.com.
