Commanders’ Jayden Daniels Suffers Terrifying Arm Injury During Sack—Fans Left Stunned

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels endured a devastating arm injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s clash against the Seahawks, leaving fans stunned and the stadium in disbelief.

With the game already slipping away, Daniels scrambled to his right, only to be crushed at the Seahawks’ 4-yard line by Seattle linebacker Drake Thomas, turning an already tough night into a shocking moment on the field.

As Daniels tried to break his fall with his left — and non-throwing — arm, his elbow bent the wrong way in a horrifying moment that appeared to dislocate it. Commanders coach Dan Quinn later described it only as a "left elbow injury," offering no further details.

Daniels’ teammates quickly dropped to their knees around him, creating a somber and heart-wrenching scene at Northwest Stadium.

“It’s really tough to see him go down. You just want him to stay positive,” Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner said. “You don’t know what the result is. You just speak a lot of positivity into existence. He’s a very positive person so we’re just praying for the best.”

The quarterback walked off the field under his own power, his arm secured in an air cast.

The Commanders were already down 38-7 when Daniels, making his return after missing three games this season with a hamstring injury and a sprained left knee, took the field.

"Hindsight, you don’t want to think that way where an injury could take place," Quinn said when asked if he had considered keeping Daniels off the field for that series.

Daniels rushed for 51 yards on 10 carries, showcasing his speed and determination despite the tough game.

“I think that’s his nature. He wants to be aggressive and make plays,” Quinn said. “He’s got confidence in the other players. I do know that. So it’s not like, ‘I have to do more, I have to do things that are outside of playing in that way.’ We also have to have everybody. Injuries happen and you hate it.”

Daniels went 16-for-22 through the air for 153 yards, though he was tagged with one interception during the game.

Marcus Mariota took over under center as Seattle cruised to a 38-15 victory. The Commanders dropped to a disappointing 3-6, a sharp fall from their playoff run last season.
