Erie Insurance reports making steady progress in restoring its computer systems, which have been offline since its information security team identified unusual activity on June 7.
“Our teams—working alongside leading cybersecurity experts—continue working around the clock to restore access for customers, agents and employees. We’re confident in our actions, but this work is complex and takes time. We appreciate your patience and understanding,” the insurer said in a June 14 update.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia Insurance Companies has also been managing a network outage after disconnecting its systems on June 9 to contain a threat following the detection of suspicious activity. “Our teams have been working around the clock to resolve this issue as quickly as possible,” the insurer said in a message on its website, adding that “a return to full business operations will take time.”
Outages have impacted phone, email, and online services.
