The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) regulates and administers National Pension System (NPS) under the PFRDA Act, 2013. Under the NPS scheme, pension fund managers invest your money in four types of assets.

NPS is available to all eligible Indian citizens who meet the stipulated conditions. There are two ways to open the NPS account – online and offline.

How to register NPS using Aadhaar

Below are the simple steps to register for NPS using Aadhaar, according to the Union Bank of India website.

Steps in registering new NPS account Online at eNPS
When you select Registration button at eNPS, you are taken to Online Subscriber Registration Form shown in image below:
Once you enter the details like PAN number it asks you to fill Personal Details as shown in image below. Note only those fields marked with * are compulsory or mandatory.

Once you enter the Captcha details, which here is simple Maths operation, to verify that you are human being and not robot for example as shown in image below

Then, Acknowledgement Number is generated.
Acknowledgement
It verifies if your details matches your PAN details. If PAN records matches information for NPS registration you get PAN Detail’s confirmation as shown in image below.

For Tier I PRANs generated through Aadhaar, you have option to eSign the document by following the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Select 'eSign' option in the eSign / Print & Courier page.
Step 2: OTP for the purpose of authentication will be sent to your mobile number registered with the Aadhaar.
Step 3: After Authentication of Aadhaar, Registration form will be successfully eSigned.
Step 4: Once a document is eSigned, you need not send the physical copy of form to CRA.
Step 5: Pay eSign charge plus applicable GST.
How can you make partial withdrawal from NPS?
An NPS subscriber needs to submit the withdrawal request along with a self-declaration stating the purpose for the withdrawal. This submission has to be done to the central record-keeping agency (CRA) through the government nodal office or point of presence.
