The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a press release outlining the details of the SGB tranches scheduled for premature redemption during October 2024 – March 2025, as well as a window for submitting requests for premature redemption. Sovereign gold bonds
The Sovereign Gold Bonds are issued by Government of India (GOI) as Government of India Stock in accordance with Section 3 of the Government Securities Act, 2006 (GS Act 2006). Interest rate on bonds is 2.5% now and will be paid on a half yearly basis. The amount will be credited by RBI to the bank account of the holder of SGB. Where the bonds are held with the depositories, the interest amount will be disbursed through depositories, who will arrange to credit the amount to the bank accounts through electronic means on the due date.SGB premature redemption dates for October 2024 - March 2025
